Occurrence: Mediterranean Sea (Tortonese 1965).

Depth: 0–100 m (Tortonese 1965).

Habitat: sand, mud to gravel, on sea grass prairies (Tortonese 1965).

Larval stage: probably planktotrophic (inferred from the genus; see McEdward & Miner 2001).

Commercial value: edible (Sicuro & Levine 2011).
