Generitype of Lechea Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 122. 1929).

Current name: Lechea minor L. ( Cistaceae).

Note: Reveal (in Taxon 38: 516. 1989), regarding Smith (1812) as having typified the name on 115.3 (LINN), a specimen of L. villosa Elliot, proposed the name for conservation with 115.5 (LINN) as conserved type. However, the Committee for Spermatophyta decided (in Taxon 42: 694. 1993) that Smith had not made an effective typification, but that Britton (l.c.) had done so, using 115.5 (LINN). As this is identifiable as L. minor of usage, the proposal was declined as unnecessary.
