Current name: Lilium philadelphicum L. ( Liliaceae).

Note: Howard & Staples (in J. Arnold Arbor. 64: 515. 1983) indicated the cited Miller plate as “presumably” the type but their uncertainty (and the existence of 420.7, LINN) means that this statement is not accepted as formal typification.
