Description of Burkholderia territorii BT 359

Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, and yellow colored after 3 days of incubation at 37℃ on MA. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and arginine dihydrolase, urease, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase activities. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, and glucose fermentation. D- Glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N -acetylglucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are utilized. Strain BT359 (= NIBRBAC 000502999) was isolated from a soil sample, Jeju, Korea.
