Lectotype (designated here by Hartmann): Herb. Clifford: 220, Mesembryanthemum 26 (BM) .

Current name: Lampranthus tenuifolius (L.) N.E. Br. ( Aizoaceae).

Note: Wijnands (Bot. Commelins: 149. 1983) noted the presence of a Clifford specimen and indicated the Dillenius element as a paratype. Hartmann (Ill. Handb. Succ. Pl., Aizoaceae F–Z: 105. 2001) states that Wijnands regarded his statement as a formal typification but the meaning of his wording is most unclear. Hartmann therefore makes a formal typification here.
