Generitype of Marrubium Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 165. 1929).

Current name: Marrubium vulgare L. ( Lamiaceae).

Note: Hedge & Lamond (in Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 28: 93. 1968) indicated 738.5 (LINN) as type but this was a post-1753 addition to the herbarium and is not original material for the name. Although Seybold (in Stuttgarter Beitr. Naturk., A, 310: 7. 1978) said "Typus: Linne (BM), non vidi", this is inadequate as a typification statement.
