Pimelodus pectinidens ^ZBK Cantor, 1849: 1243. Type locality: Pinang, Malaysia. Holotype: whereabouts unknown.

Distribution: South and southeast Asia.

Countries: India, Andaman Island, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

Habitat: Brackish and rarely freshwaters.

Maximum size: 240 mm TL.

Material examined: ANSP 60704 (3 al, 43-162 mm TL) (1 c&s), Thailand, Bangkok, Siam.
