Carcharhinus altimus (Springer 1950) — Bignose shark
Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by White et al. (2018: 219), based on a specimen caught by longline in 432 m off Kavieng in October 2015 (W. White).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Circumglobal but patchy in tropical and warm temperate seas. Usually near the bottom, 80–430 m depth. Marine.
