Taeniurops meyeni (Müller & Henle 1841) — Blotched fantail ray

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by White et al. (2018: 263), White & Ko'ou (2018: 62) based on underwater observation in Kavieng District by Dietmar Amon and D. Borcherds.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Red Sea, East and South Africa and Mascarenes east to Philippines, north to southern Japan and Ogasawara Islands, south to Queensland (Australia), Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and New Caledonia. Found on rocky and coral reefs, 1–500 m depth. Marine.
