Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, 5 m depth, by Dean Tully on 6 Oct. 2013.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: East Africa and Mascarenes east to Society Islands, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Found on sand bottoms, 0–15 m depth. Marine.
