Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11403 (1 specimen, 53.1 mm SL, St. KZ 2, Edmago Island, Kavieng District, 2°36.890’S 150°44.428’E, 9 m depth, 10 June 2014).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Fiji to Samoa. Pelagic in coastal waters near reefs, 0–20 m depth. Marine.
