Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11079 (1 specimen, 46.8 mm SL, St. CP 4419-24, northeast of New Hanover), and NTUM 11170 (1 specimen, 37.8 mm SL, St. CP 4445-25, northeast of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: southern Japan; southern Indonesia. Mesopelagic, 200–366 m depth. Marine.
