Status at New Ireland. Reported from offshore islands off southern New Ireland in original description by Parin & Borodulina (1996: 595).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 5.—General distribution: East and South Africa east to Hawaiian and Line islands, north to Ogasawara Islands, south to Tasmania (Australia). Bathypelagic, 50–2230 m depth. Marine.
