Status at New Ireland. Reorted from southwest of Nuguria Island (3°37'S 154°15'E) in original description by Clarke (2001: 690), based on USNM 292243.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 5.—General distribution: Andaman Sea and Indonesia east to Caroline Islands and Papua New Guinea. Mesopelagic, 0–1250 m depth. Marine.
