Synodus rubromarmoratus Russell & Cressey 1979 — Redmarbled lizardfish
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken on north coast of Manne Island, Kavieng District at 1–11 m depth, St. KR36, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Philippines east to Hawaiian Islands, north to Taiwan, south to Western Australia, Queensland (Australia) and Chesterfield Islands (New Caledonia). Found on sand and rubble bottoms near coral reefs, 0–15 m depth. Marine.
