Status at New Ireland. First recorded from off Green Island by Mukhacheva (1974: 224).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 5.—General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and warm temperate seas. Bathypelagic, 900–3500 m, usually 2000–2600 m depth. Marine.
