Ventrifossa johnboborum Iwamoto 1982 — Snoutscale whiptail

Status at New Ireland. Originally described from north of Feni Island, Tangga Group, Namatanai District, New Ireland by Iwamoto (1982: 56), based on AMS I.15602-002 (holotype).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 5.—General distribution: South China Sea and Philippines to Papua New Guinea; Sala-y-Gomez Ridge in Southeastern Pacific Ocean. Bathydemersal, 540–810 m depth. Marine.
