Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (1 specimen, St. CP 4449-20, north of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Western and central Pacific: Japan to Kamchatka and Hawaiian Ridge; elsewhere to Papua New Guinea and eastern Australia, to New Caledonia and northern New Zealand. Benthopelagic, 580–1100 m depth. Marine.
