Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (1 specimen, St. CP 4439-2, northeast of New Hanover; 2 specimens, St. CP 4449-6-7, north of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and warm temperate seas, except for eastern Pacific. Bathypelagic, 250–700 m depth. Marine.
