Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Hulley & Duhamel (2010: 278). NTUM material (2 specimens, St. CP 4422-15-16, northeast of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: In tropical waters of the Indian and Pacific oceans. Bathypelagic, 50–725 m depth. Marine.
