Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (1 specimen, St. CP 4447-2, north of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and warm temperate seas, but not in eastern Pacific. Bathypelagic, 350–1389 m depth. Marine.
