Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (1 specimen, St. CP 4437-7, northeast of New Hanover; 1 specimen, St. CP 4447-3, north of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Red Sea, Indo-West Pacific: East Africa east to Philippines and New Guinea, north to Korea and southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Benthopelagic, 10–300 m depth. Marine.
