Status at New Ireland. First recorded from southern New Ireland by Parin (1967: 52).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 3.—General distribution: East Africa east to Revillagigedo, Clipperton and Cocos islands (eastern Pacific Ocean). Near the surface in coastal waters, estuaries and rivers, 0–1 m depth. Freshwater, transitional water and marine.
