Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 19 Aug. 2009.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Andaman Sea (Thailand) and Indonesia east to Palau and Solomon Islands, south to northwestern Australia and Queensland (Australia). Found solitary or in pairs, in reef crevices of the seaward reef slopes, 5–35 m depth. Marine.
