Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at St. KVG2 (Nusa Island, northwest of Kavieng, Kavieng District) by Serge Andréfouët on 11 Aug. 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Central Indonesia east to Philippines and Papua New Guinea, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Benthic on rubble bottoms, 2–15 m depth. Marine.
