Scorpaenodes kelloggi (Jenkins 1903) —Minor scorpionfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11459 (1 specimen, 28.1 mm SL, St. KF 1, west of Nago Island, Kavieng District, 3 June 2014), and NTUM 11452 (1 specimen, 56.6 mm SL, St. KM5, Povalal, northeast coast, Kavieng District, 02°40.976’S 150°56.961’E, intertidal, 11 June 2014). A specimen photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 24 May 2009.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: East Africa east to Society and Marquesas islands, north to Philippines. Found in coral and rubble habitats, 1–24 m depth. Marine.
