Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11069 (2 specimens, 60.7–62.4 mm SL, St. CP 4418-20-21, northeast of New Hanover), NTUM 11104 (1 specimen, 86.4 mm SL, St. CP 4428-6, northeast of New Hanover), NTUM 11256 (1 specimen, 86.4 mm SL, St. CP 4459-14, 8.5 km westnorthwest of Kavieng), and NTUM 11338 (1 specimen, 45.7 mm SL, St. CP 4495-5, northwest of New Hanover).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: India east to Philippines and Papua New Guinea, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Demersal on the continental slope, 186–630 m depth. Marine.
