Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11128 (1 specimen, 86.4 mm SL, St. CP 4437-17, northeast of New Hanover), and NTUM 11138 (1 specimen, 38.5 mm SL, St. CP 4438-22, northeast of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Philippines north to Japan, south to New Caledonia. Demersal on the continental slope, 180–490 m depth. Marine.
