Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11086 (1 specimen, 118.0 mm SL, St. CP 4420-23, northeast of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: southern Japan. Demersal on the continental slope, 200–600 m depth. Marine.
