Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11206 (2 specimens, St. CP 4455-56-57, eastnortheast of Bangatang).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and New Guinea, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Benthic on sand or rubble bottom near reefs, 8–250 m depth. Marine.
