Pseudanthias tuka (Herre & Montalban 1927) —Purple anthias

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed on 3–5 June 2013 during ACIAR Aquarium Survey in Kavieng District (see Teitelbaum et al. 2013: 14); a video of a specimen taken off Nubilus Island, off southeastern New Hanover, at 3–32 m depth, St. KR 88, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Found in groups above seaward reef slopes, 7–120 m depth. Marine.
