Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen observed at Selapiu Island, Kavieng District, 1–31 m depth, St. T 14, on 3 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Eastern Indonesia east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, south to Great Barrier Reef (Australia) and Coral Sea. Found in coral reefs among rubble and in crevices 10–30 m depth. Marine.
