Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Gill (2004: 97), based on USNM material from Kavieng.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Kiribati (Gilbert Islands) and Vanuatu, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia. Cryptic in crevices in reef flats and inshore reefs, 0–30 m depth. Marine.
