Pseudochromis bitaeniatus (Fowler 1931) —Two-lined dottyback
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen in a video of a specimen taken at Manne Island, Kavieng District, 3–25 m depth, St. KR 42, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell), and another off southern New Hanover at 3–47 m depth, St. KR 106.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indonesia and Papua New Guinea to Philippines to Palau, Solomon Islands and Australia. Found in coastal and seaward reefs, 2–38 m depth. Marine.
