Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Kavieng, New Ireland by Gill (2004: 31), based on USNM material.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Papua New Guinea, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to Northern Territory (Australia). Found in coastal or seaward reefs, 1–20 m depth. Marine.
