Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11424 (1 male, 21.7 mm SL, St. KD 62, around Prochol Island, Kavieng District, 02°34.007’S 150°33.694’E, 6–7 m depth, sand and broken shells, 20 June 2014). WAM material (WAM P.28186-005, 2 specimens, Kavieng).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: East Africa east to Fiji, north to southern Japan and Ogasawara Islands, south to Queensland (Australia) and New Caledonia. Solitary in coastal, lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 6–75 m depth. Marine.
