Status at New Ireland. First recorded from the west coast 40 km southeast of Kavieng, New Ireland in original description by Randall & Taylor (1988: 41–43). WAM material.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Northwestern Australia east to Fiji, north to Philippines. Found in coral reef crevices of the outer coral reef slope, 20–46 m depth. Marine.
