Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Allen & Erdmann (2012: 346); a specimen observed at Selapiu Island, Kavieng District, 1–48 m depth, St. T 13, on 3 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Papua New Guinea to northern Queensland (Australia). Secretive in caves and crevices of coral reefs, 2–20 m depth. Marine.
