Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at St. KVG24 (off northwestern Bauddisson Island) by Serge Andréfouët on 22 Aug. 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and Solomon Islands. On seaward coral reef slopes, 10–40 m depth. Marine.
