Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Lihir Group, Namatamai District, New Ireland by Fry et al. (2006: 129).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 5.—General distribution: East Africa to Tonga and Samoa, southern Indonesia to Ryukyu Islands. Found in small groups in coastal water including estuaries, 1–22 m depth. Transitional water and marine.
