Pristiapogon abrogramma (Fraser & Lachner 1985) —Lateral-stripe cardinalfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken on north coast of Manne Island, Kavieng District at 1–11 m depth, St. KR 36, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); another taken at Nubilus Island, off eastern New Hanover, 3–25 m depth, St. KR 90, in 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Madagascar and Comoro Islands east to Philippines and Solomon Islands. Found solitary or in loose groups, in caves and ledges of seaward coral reefs, 11– 40 m depth. Marine.
