Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed in Kavieng District at St. KVGPMT 25 by Serge Andréfouët on 15 Aug. 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Malaysia east to Philippines and Papua New Guinea, south to Solomon Islands and northwestern Australia. Found in coastal and seaward coral reefs, 5–40 m depth. Marine.
