Status at New Ireland. New record from Kavieng District, based on WAM material (WAM P.28185-094, 1 specimen).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Andaman Islands east to Caroline Islands and Wallis and Futuna, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in estuarine and adjacent marine habitats, 0–2 m depth. Freshwater, transitional water and marine.
