Centropyge fisheri (Snyder 1904) —White-tail pygmy angelfish
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on photographs taken on 3 June 2013, first dive, during ACIAR Aquarium Survey in Kavieng District; a video of a specimen taken on east side of Tsoileunung Island, southeast of New Hanover, at 6–21 m depth, St. KR 124, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: East Africa east to Hawaiian, Marquesas and Tuamotu islands, north to southern Japan, south to Queensland (Australia) and New Caledonia. Solitary or in aggregations, in coral rubble areas of lagoons, passages and slopes of seaward coral reefs, 10–95 m depth. Marine.
