Centropyge bispinosa (Günther 1860) —Two-spined angelfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed on 3 June 2013 during ACIAR Aquarium Survey in Kavieng District (see Teitelbaum et al. 2013: 14); a video of a specimen taken on east side of Tsoileunung Island, southeast of New Hanover, at 6–21 m depth, St. KR 124, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: East Africa, Madagascar and Mascarenes east to Marshall and Tuamotu islands, north to Izu Islands, south to Western Australia, Lord Howe and Norfolk islands, and Tonga. Solitary or in small groups, cryptic on steep outer coral or rocky reef slopes, 3–45 m depth. Marine.
