Centropyge multifasciata (Smith & Radcliffe 1911) —Multi-barred angelfish

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Tigak Islands, Kavieng District, New Ireland, by Allen & Erdmann (2012: 542). Specimens photographed in Kavieng region on 3–5 June 2013 during ACIAR Aquarium Survey (see Teitelbaum et al. 2013: 14, as Paracentropyge multiflasciatusus).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Christmas and Cocos-Keeling islands (eastern Indian Ocean) and Indonesia east to Society Islands, north to southern Japan, south to Queensland (Australia) and New Caledonia. Solitary or in small groups, in caves or under ledges of seaward coral reefs, 7–70 m depth. Marine.
