Amblyglyphidodon ternatensis (Bleeker 1853) — Ternate damselfish (Fig. 101)

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 2 Dec. 2006; a video of a specimen taken at Tungelo Island, off southeastern New Hanover, at 3–46 m depth, St. KR 104, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Central Indonesia east to Palau and Vanuatu, north to Philippines, south to New Caledonia. Found in staghorn Acropora thickets on sheltered inshore coral reefs and seaward reefs, 1–30 m depth. Marine.
