Amphiprion leucokranos Allen 1973 —White-bonnet anemonefish

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Allen & Erdmann (2012: 572). A specimen photographed in Kavieng region on 3 June 2013 during ACIAR Aquarium Survey (see Teitelbaum et al. 2013: 14 as A. leukoronos); specimens were photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng region by Dietmar Amon; a video of a specimen taken off southern New Hanover at 3–47 m depth, St. KR106, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Eastern Indonesia east to Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. Found in lagoons and seaward coral reefs, commensal with sea anemones, 2–12 m depth. Marine.

Remark. Probably a hybrid between Amphiprion chrysopterus and A. sandaracinos .
