Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed on 2–3 June 2013 during ACIAR Aquarium Survey in Kavieng District; a video of a specimen taken at Nubilus Island, off eastern New Hanover, at 3–32 m depth, St. KR 88, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Eastern Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands south to Coral Sea. Found among rubble and on dead coral outcrops, 3–38 m depth. Marine.
