Pomacentrus philippinus Evermann & Seale 1907 — Philippines damselfish
Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by Allen & Erdmann (2012: 621); a video of a specimen taken east of Albatross Passage, southwestern Kavieng District, 2–38 m depth, St. KR 44, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); another taken off southeastern New Hanover, at 6–21 m depth, St. KR 124, in 2014.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Maldives and Andaman Sea east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in coastal and seaward reefs, 1–12 m depth. Marine.
